Tres Juicy Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hi all, I do like a good paradox. I tend to hide this one in my internal emails at work as part of my signature: "Please ingore this email and disregard any and all instuctions contained herein" nobody seems to have noticed yet... Anyway, please post your favorites in this thread 1
Schrödinger's hat Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 "Please ingore this email and disregard any and all instuctions contained herein" No! I'm just going to disregard one of the instructions. I prefer: Disobey this command. For this one, it's less easy to get around. 1

Tres Juicy Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 The smallest positive integer not definable in under eleven words. I'm afraid this one's a little beyond me.... Would you care to explain it to mathematically challenged among us?
hypervalent_iodine Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) I'm afraid this one's a little beyond me.... Would you care to explain it to mathematically challenged among us? Hint: count the number of words in Schroe's post. Edited December 10, 2011 by hypervalent_iodine
John Cuthber Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 All statements are false, for a given definition of false.
ydoaPs Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Hi all, I do like a good paradox. Anyway, please post your favorites in this thread That's not a logical contradiction, btw. It is, however, of the type of statement used to show certain systems cannot be both consistent and complete.
