charles brough Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I think everyone, it they tried, could come up with an original saying. I hit upon this one this year: "There are no accidents, just people taking too much risk." I have not yet been able to originate another. How about it everyone?

How about it everyone? its easy to look into the shadows and see monsters (my anticonspiracy theory saying) give life a go its easy really (very cheesy) probably this has been said before but i've never consciously heard it... never gamble with more than you can afford to loose.(common sense) Time is part of the process that is our universe and as you and I are part of the universe we both observe and experience this process.(random) This is my favorite but I don't claim authorship "The stone age didn't end because they ran out of stones"(for rose spec's wearers) Edited December 11, 2011 by dimreepr
doG Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I think everyone, it they tried, could come up with an original saying. I hit upon this one this year: "There are no accidents, just people taking too much risk." I have not yet been able to originate another. How about it everyone? I had an insurance adjuster tell me one time that there are no such thing as accidents. He explained that 'accident' is just a label for an event that has occurred as the result of an unsafe act or an unsafe condition. Two of my own: Draw no conclusions before their time. It is not enough the things we give others but what we give of ourselves.

I think everyone could devise at least one if they think about it. I was in the Forces and the wisest saying I heard was "Never volunteer". Not original - but very wise! well, that is the safest way to go in the military, but in real life. . . ?

Realitycheck Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Not my own, but here is a classic. All experience is preceded by mind, led by mind, made by mind.Speak or act with a corrupt mind and suffering follows, as the wagon wheel follows the hoof of the ox. All experience is preceded by mind, led by mind, made by mind. Speak or act with a peaceful mind, and happiness follows like a never-departing shadow.
