Baby Astronaut Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 (edited) These two videos worked. Normally, it displays a message saying I need to install a Flash plugin, but instead it played the video using HTML5 technology. Awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmk43_2dtn0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESZ3NFL8X-k But unfortunately other videos there are still in Flash. Just want to know in case I upload videos, I'll make sure they're HTML5 playable. I used Firefox, newest version. Edited December 21, 2011 by Baby Astronaut
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 YouTube does the video encoding themselves. (Playing video in the HTML5 format requires re-encoding them in a couple formats.) However, they haven't gotten around to redoing every video in their entire database, and certain videos, like those with advertisements, can't be played in the HTML5 form. https://www.youtube.com/html5
