mistermack Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 This is slow and wistful to start, but you need to hear it all the way to the end, which is amazing playing. 1
mistermack Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Two youtube absolute gems. One for it's dancing, the other for the playing : 1
iNow Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 This landed nicely upon my lobes and associated apparatus. 1

StringJunky Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) This is a quite riveting showing of the Euromaiden protests in 2013-2014. It's quite hard to watch at times but it really gives a feeling of the determination of the people there. You need 90 minutes to watch it through. Edited November 5, 2022 by StringJunky 1

Yes, the Maidan uprising, or Euromaidan, was an outstanding movement against corruption and for democracy. I watched a couple episodes of the Ukraine political satire, Servant of the People, that made Zelenskii famous, in which he plays the history teacher who runs for president on an anti-corruption platform. Funny stuff. Putin is trying to break the will of Ukrainian people by destroying their power plants now. I do not think Ukrainians are easily broken. 1

Watching this and the PBS's Battle for Ukraine (requires Google sign in here) has given me more of an understanding of nationalist groups, and the history and catalysts behind their formation. I think it would be fair to say the Europe-centric part is pretty damn indomitable. Edited November 5, 2022 by StringJunky

sethoflagos Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album. Not really my kind of music, but they were a part of my 'growing up' and the passing of Christine Perfect/McVie has knocked me a bit off kilter. A tear in the eye when I listen to 'Songbird'. 2
