Primarygun Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 http://en.wikipedia.org/ For this encyclopedia web site, a guest can edit the pages or even remove them. I am afraid someone who's very naughty and he will get rid of the pages. Is there anything I don't know?
Sayonara Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 Wiki has been proven time and again to be a reliable way of managing public information, and for the most part users act responsibly. Any damage done by renegade elements can always be rolled back to the previous day's entry - it is not a problem.
Primarygun Posted November 6, 2004 Author Posted November 6, 2004 What will happen if no one intended to report the case?
Ophiolite Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 If no one reports it, then it suggests there was no interest in the entry, so its loss may actually be a net gain.
Sayonara Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 I should very much hope there is a change log which can be reviewed daily by the staff.
5614 Posted November 6, 2004 Posted November 6, 2004 me too. it is a very usefull and on the whole trusted source. one can only assume that it is monitored sensibly and well.
Sayonara Posted November 7, 2004 Posted November 7, 2004 It's about the most natural form of peer review the web is likely to develop.
