Aardvark
What's so strange about bonfire night? We might as well start saying July 4th or Thanksgiving is strange. Anyway it's a good excuse to light a big fire and let of fireworks.

MolecularMan14
lol. I understand a big bonfire, and a good celebration, but I dont really understand a night where crime and drunken accidents run ramped; not that Im making any assumptions about anyone here @ SFN. I trust that we're all intelligent enough not to be dangerously criminal.

YT2095
LOL, I like that actualy we use this time of year to burn any garbage that can`t be composted or used on our allotment gardens, since we`re not allowed to have fires throughout the year as it`s close to a school and peoples homes, we collect all this rubbish and burn it all in one go, so it`s dual purpose for us and yes there`s fireworks and food and plenty of beer etc... it makes for a darn good night actualy
TimeTraveler
Sounds like fun, is there a history behind it? is it a holiday? what does it represent?
YT2095
it`s a great night mostly, although I wouldn`t like to be a nurse or doctor in an A&E dept it does indeed have quite a long history, here`s a rough background: http://www.bonefire.org/guy/
