Copper plumbing tube heat exchanger inside a PC case that is getting quite warm. Copper plumbing tube heat exchanger outside the PC case. Connected via platic tubes to a sealed reservoir with small pond pump and household ammonia and the reservoir can be partially evacuated. The idea being that the ammonia will boil out of solution within the heat exchanger inside the PC case and then re-dissolve as it gives up its heat in the second heat exchanger. Depending on how good a vaccum I can generate, some of the water might boil off too.

I dont think the temperatures will differ that much though. I think a fan blowing would be just as effective. Try drawing a diagram with brief instructions on it? It would be easier to picture what you trying to do.

It would be easier to picture what you trying to do. This is what I had in mind with the aim of creating a mild refridgeration device inside the case to speed the flow of heat outside. My idea is that the partial vacuum will be enough to make the solution boil inside the PC case at the higher temperture but not in the reservoir at room temperature. Clearly nothing will happen until the PC case warms up some time after you turn the system on. Edited January 21, 2012 by Santalum
