Hello everyone,

My name is Donna Barcus and I live in the United States. I am finding it very difficult to find 3% Hydrogen Peroxide without a stabilizer offline or online. Purchasing Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide is costly for my budget, so with that being said...I am wanting to use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide without a stablizer for the purpose to make my own Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide and then when I have completed the project of making my own Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide I will dilute it to the correct ratio with distilled water so I can use it internally. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate if someone can tell me where I can find the 3% Hydrogen Peroxide without a stabilizer off line or online.

Also; Herablist/Tony Patalleresco shares a very informative video on youtube entitled: [---------------- which you can gain access to his video at the following link --------------------- Tony shares his own channel at HerbsPlusBeadWorks's which you can gain access to approx 93 of Tony's videos. If you like what he shares and you want to keep updated when he post new videos, I would suggest for you to subscribe to his channel and besure to check if you want to receive his eMails when he post new videos which you will receive a link to check out his new videos.

Thank you and I am very much looking forward to hearing back from other members that could possibly assist me with my request. You can either post your info directly here or send me an eMail as my eMail address is included within my signature line.

Have a blessed day,

Donna Barcus

Hi Donna,

Straight up I want to say that I'm not trying to 'shut you down' or anything like that, so please don't take offense or anything like that. This is merely my opinion based on what I've been taught so far in chemistry, physiology etc. I am not an expert in these fields, but I feel I know enough to make the following advice:

Firstly, hydrogen peroxide is not something I would be eating. It can be toxic. A 3% solution is likely enough to cause aggrevation of any stomach ulsers and may also induce them. Non-stabalised hydrogen peroxide is also likely to quickly decompose (into water and oxygen gas) in the stomach causing ructus (belching) and as such is less likely to be absorbed by the body to any significant extent. It can cause nausea and vomitting. And there is no known benefit for ingesting the compound. On a side note, the body makes small amounts of peroxides in side reactions and actually decomposes it quickly to avoid damage to the body- as such any hydrogen peroxide you did absorb would likely be decomposed rapidly upon entering the blood stream, possibly producing gas emboli (gas bubbles in the blood stream).

Furthermore, I'm not sure how you can make something thats not already 'food grade' into food grade without access to sensitive equiptment... Not too mention that you won't know it's food grade unless you have the means and equiptment to determine the impurities, if they are toxic, and if they are less than the required thresholds to classify something as such. Food grade is a standard of purity (to certify chemicals that can be used in food products- example preservatives), it does not mean they should be eaten by themselves.

Finally, in the interest of safety- it sounds like you may have been planning on concentraing the 3% solution? I would like to address that because it is very important that you don't! (Firstly, heating up the solution would likely degrade the peroxide and leave you with a weaker solution)- BUT, if you managed to concentrate it without a stabaliser it is quite likely to explosively decompose. There is a reason why 50% is so expensive (shipping), and why 80% is only used in very specialised circumstances.

I've read about this practice several times over the last few years and it never fails to baffle me that people actually fall for such absolute nonsense. It is, according to most crackpots who use it, a cure for cancer and every other disease known to man (and probably the ones we don't know about as well). As an example,I know that in the treatment of cancer, the reasons I've seen cited are because it supplies a source of oxygen to cancerous cells. They think that because a great number of cells display the Warburg affect (a metabolic shift from cellular respiration to glycolosis for energy production), overloading your body with oxygen will cause that shift to reverse and hey presto, cancer is gone.

In keeping with the definition of the crackpot moniker, it does not matter how many ways or how many times you tell such people that the premise of their idea is fundamentally flawed, the government is still trying to keep the 'real' knowledge from the general populus for the purposes of keping the money in the right wallets. And of course, we scientists are collectively in on the deal (seriously, even my grad student pay cheque is monumentally huge), but I don't have time to explain as I have a government funded gravy train to be catching.

My vet told me to give my dog a teaspoon of 1% hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting (my dog had some french fries while I wasn't looking).

Just a small anecdote for perspective.

How toxic are French fries?

The NaCl can be bad if you are a ten pound terrier and you ate a LARGE order if them. Not sure really. Girlfriend freaked out though. I was along for the ride as resistance was futile.

Im sure the dog would've been fine really. The peroxide did in fact induce vomiting though.

For anyone who's reading this and hasn't got the hint yet...

Don't drink hydrogen peroxide!

In addition, it is NEVER a wise practice to consume anything that is not manufactured to be food grade. Do not consume chemistry experiments...period. No good has ever come from it.

That's such a girlfriend thing to do, haha.

Don't drink hydrogen peroxide even if it is food grade. That's not what food grade hydrogen peroxide is for.

I was trying don't eat anything that is not supposed to be food. Bad wording, good catch.

Incidentally, whatever the girlfriend said, I think the vet should have known better.

Google shows that the practice is common. Whether or not it was appropriate for that situation I don't know and won't pretend to.
