I won't say how to crack to preserve the quiz element. A couple of hints

 

1. it is a simple substitution

2. it is much easier to crack than 1. would suggest.

3. 5-10 years ago it would have been even easier

 

Do us a favour and upload a nice picture of the lake and ring of trees a couple of hundred yards to the southsouthwest - it will look beautiful this time of year

Thanks, not going this time of year, in a couple of months as it is a 3 hour drive to get there, and with storms still happening a bit unsafe for my liking to be driving that distance,,,, awaiting the rain season over snow for driving the distance, but will post pic when I do get there, I once again thank you for your help.

Did you guess the way that it was encode?. It is really simple and if you are over 20 and less that 50 years old I would bet dollars to donuts that you have used the same code.

LOL nope did not guess, I am over 50 and have never sent a message that way, guess I am from the ole' school, normally solve puzzles manual. But that one had me stumped big time, just use to web surfing, a friend said to ask for help in the forums, I think I have done good to even find the forums, hehehe. I once more thank you.
