The main issues with this struggle, as simple as it sounds, is communication and comprehension. I've been on many sides of different political spectrum, observing different ideals, and it seems all of the sides are all just people. For every rush Limbaugh it seems, there is a liberal equivalent who think similar things about conservatives. Even with communism and capitalism, people in very communist countries would look at the "selfish" US capitalistic ways as evil, even though it doesn't always work with things like corrupt CEOs, it implores working more and working to eventually give back to a community after which the community would give back to you, while capitalists think communist are evil for wanting to enslave people, when really it's just a dictator manipulating the image of communism and people being too afraid to stand up to it.

When I comprehend all the different view-points, it seems people are mis-understanding while also not making the effort to further their understanding, and this arrogance causes many problems.

There's also the matter of environment too, which is that people raised by people of a certain taste will likely develop those tastes as well, whether its for wine or a political structure.

I think his name is "Ed Schultz"

Both sides are just people, so I don't see why you'd expect what you see in the conservative side to not happen on the liberal side.

Although, I suppose Stephen Colbert might also be considered a liberal Limbaugh in the eyes of conservatives too.

That assumption that that's what I was saying is the same kind of assumption that conservatives make. I'm sure you see that now that I mentioned it.

No, in fact I do not, Fox Noise can be shown to quite deliberately lie continuously on many topics and twist the truth far past any recognition on most if not all others... I see no other net work do this... period... and it's not just an assumption because I disagree with them...

So do you honestly think that what people like Stephen Colbert say where conservatives are just crazed, money obsessed children is true? Do you not see how you are tie-ing a few "celebrates" whom many conservatives and republicans disagree with in different ways to the entire political party?

I go to Madison (WI) and hear things like "(conservatives or republicans) are evil scum" and "the republican party wants to destroy the world" literally I hear that, and then I go visit my Aunt in Milwaukee which is in the same state, who's republican and one of those old fashioned types of kind people who consciously smile at everything because they actually are happy to see you.

Colbert is a comedian not a news commentator... if he hits too close to home then take it like you want but he is in the comedy business not the news business...

Again not a news network... but i do like to watch fox news occasionally, if you are really up to date on the reality of what is going on, seeing them assert batshit crazy lies as the absolute truth is funny...

Well for those people, perhaps because they have gotten in so deep they do in fact think it is the truth, which is still not to say that that has happened to every conservative. It only takes 1 exception to prove an "all" statement false.

From a quick look on youtube, he doesn't seem particularly batshit crazy to me. Come to that he doesn't seem very left-wing.

Can anyone find Mr Schultz or any of his colleagues doing anything like this?

We LITERALLY Looked at that video in my US government class to laugh at him specifically in that speech, because it was such a terrible speech, in fact we were looking at how speeches fail, and this was the second one, after that one guy who ran against Karry and made like a "yahoo" shout. I would definitely compare both Shultz and Limbaugh to that guy sometimes, and I grew up on Willy Street in Madison, Wisconsin, the most democratic street in the entire Northern US. Though, I will admit I think Limbaugh is still worse out of the two.

Point is, after growing up in such a Democratic city, and even going to the Walker protests yet also traveling around the country and knowing Republican people, there still are some mis-understandings, and many Republicans I know only side with that party because of one single thing like with abortion. I've also noticed from the people I know that there are increasing numbers of people both democrat and republican who believe in man-made global warming as well. It's really only the extremist Republicans that are so bad, just as with any particular group.

I can tell you right now Democratic/Liberal people have all their own messed up stuff. There's still old racist people who literally say things like "Don't walk behind me so much, what are you? Some kind of Chinese servant?" who are hard-core democrats.

I'd like to do that comparison too. Could you find some video on Youtube or something that shows Schultz ranting like that please?

Just to be clear, I'm also Democratic, but I don't think being affiliated with any particular party automatically makes you better than any other person or automatically gives you some mystical right to to say whatever you want about someone. I know Republicans who watch Fox regularly and agree with some of them, but at the same time I know Republicans who agree with the Republican party on multiple-issues who say Fox is complete BS. I know Democrats who think woman's rights is a solved and I know Democrats that say people who do abortion are evil, right in Madison, which I guess still isn't enough to sway them to the Republican side.

Thanks.

He certainly looks a bit of a fool, but he doesn't seem in the same league as the loony republican.

Ripping someone's heart out and playing with it like a football doesn't sound loony to you?

It's the guy's personal opinion and protected as free speech.

In particular, if you accept that Cheney is a war criminal (and I think that's certainly plausible) then ripping his heart out (after due process) might be viewed as a reasonable punishment.

So if you can say that that guy is entitled to free speech and an opinion after all of that, why can't you say that about Limbaugh? Because he's not a Democrat?

I didn't.

I don't know much about Limbaugh .

So if you don't agree with moon, what is the point your trying to make? Because he already seems kind of crazy, so I don't think your point is that he's not.

Rush Limbaugh is entitled to all the free speech he wants, I never suggested he be censored but he is a lair...

The guy scares hell out of me and I lean to the right. Both Shultz and Limbaugh scare me even more simply because their voice holds so much more power.

Here's one of Schultz's deliveries. But there's plenty for Limbaugh too.

Here's a Limbaugh.

Your notion for party segregation is still illogical. Both parties are comprised human beings, and human beings are human beings no matter what party they are in, so the same types of actions have to occur in both parties.

Then he should call his rants opinions instead of claiming they are true.

Again, I was talking about a "NEWS" Channel that purports to report reality, not some insane assholes personal blog. You like everyone else is entitled to your own opinion but not your own reality...

Couldn't Shultz argue that it's true that what should happen is to rip someone's heart out and play with it like a football? Oh wait he already did that...

So what's your point by only pointing out that it happens on Fox news? That Fox news reporters are the only ones out of the republican party who say those things?

The point I was making is that none of the "left wing" loonies seem quite as weird as the right wing ones (though the latest post by Rigney shows Schultz getting close).

Saying "I think we should rip his heart out and play football with it" is insensitive, and probably dumb in terms of swinging public opinion, but it's not as absurdly false as some of the claims made by the right wing like "Obama wasn't born in the US".

One is a matter of opinion (albeit a minority view if taken literally) but the other is just not consistent with the real world.
