Thank you for your help, not at all sure what's happening!

I did wonder if there was some sort of time or number of posts limit before this feature was enabled? Not been a member long.

The only thing in common with all my attempts is that I google "youtube performer (e. Kinks)", select a video, right click to copy video URL, return to the forum and from there I have tried every which way without much success.

Unfortunately I'm on someone elses computer and have to give it back. Will return when I can - thanks again.

Thanks, Phi for All is contacting Administrators. He thinks there may be some sort of a bug. But why only me and on two separate computers. Rhetorical question - don't answer - thanks for trying.

Was just curious if I could post links to youtube; wasn't sure I had tried

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=LUpBSvN1a50

Never worked for me, either.

I just double post the link and the video shows up the second time.

Or it just works the first time. ^^^^ Hah.

Joatmon - glad to see that homo sapiens triumphed over a plastic box of chips with added juice! Next task - learn latex; and that isn't a suggestion to go to the seedier shops in the wrong part of town

[math] latex=\frac{nice\, fractions}{with\, tops\, and\, bottoms} + \sum{proper\, summation} + more^{lots}[/math]

Thanks for help and interest. My problem was that youtube adds a lot of gunk which needed stripping out. What's wrong with the seedier shops in the wrong part of town?wink.gif

Trying to think where I have posted fractions recently. huh.gif

Try lowering the quality / definition when on the youtube site. I suspect when we embed them here at SFN there is a ceiling on the HD quality... maybe around 360. If you are trying for higher quality on Youtube site and your internet connection cannot handle that, it could be what's causing the difference for you. Just guessing, though. I would try manually lowering the definition/quality on the videos you watch on youtube itself and see if that changes anything.

I always play it at the least resolution it will allow. Sometimes it helps most of the time it doesn't. Most of it has to do with my 10 yo computer I am sure.

test straight copy past of url:

Test paste of embed link:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1c3AQT_Lex4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Test add BBcode tags around link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c3AQT_Lex4

Test Youtube tags around just the video ID, not the entire URL:

1c3AQT_Lex4
