Following difficulties in getting youtube videos to auto load (popular in The Lounge) I suggest a detailed guide would be useful.

Such a guide would cover computer specifications and requirements such as necessary software, cookie enablement etc.

It would cover any limitations set by the forum administrators such minimum time or minimum number of posts for a member.

It would list in sequence the actions to be taken on a music website such as youtube to obtain its URL.

It would then list in sequence the steps to be taken when posting on the forum.

If the procedure can be upset by using any of the provided facilities such as "edit" or "Fast reply" then a warning should be given.

The administrators may think of other details that could be added as useful.

I did a quick check of the restrictions.

The auto-load feature is limited to two videos per post, so you don't overwhelm people's computers. The YouTube link must be of the form www.youtube.com/watch?v=, so if YouTube adds in gunk like /watch?feature=player_thingy&v=, strip out the extra bits.

The feature shouldn't depend on your browser, cookies, or installed software; if you can see the videos on YouTube, the auto-loading should work here.

I don't think there are restrictions by postcount or anything.

Thanks. I'll give it a rest and then try again.

Now that's funny - I previewed the post and saw my video - but seem to be back where I started!
