Mr Rayon Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Are you a pimple popper? Is it healthy to pop pimples? Should you pop pimples if you see one with lots of pus or is it best to leave it? What does everyone think and what are the latest scientific findings telling us to do?
Xittenn Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I think often in men the source of the pimple is ingrown hair that happens during puberty. A good cosmologist can dig the hair out to prevent recurrence.

Joatmon Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 She asshole . . . **cosmetologist My turn - ha ha hahaha!
Xittenn Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Well, far better reason to laugh I guess . . . . :/ 1
Joatmon Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Well, far better reason to laugh I guess . . . . :/ Not really. A slip of the tongue is much less a sign of ignorance than the true ignorance I showed.
Xittenn Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Well with the OP popping pimples regularly can leave divots in your skin, and so can regularly having pimples which is why I made my statement.
Joatmon Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Well with the OP popping pimples regularly can leave divots in your skin, and so can regularly having pimples which is why I made my statement. No criticism - I had to use Eskamel when I was a teenager!
Xittenn Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Also popping pimples inflames and irritates the epidermal layers further and only acts to worsen the situation in most cases.
Fuzzwood Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Yeah like I can smell genders from here. I hereby shall call everyone "it" from now on.
Xittenn Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 (edited) I've made this clear to you before and you keep doing it. I apologize to the forum but honestly few will care about how that affects me and anyway I analyze this to death and it ends with me leaving like I did the chat room. I'm glad that those of you who feel it necessary is so frickin' confident in their bigotry, while I'm left feeling like a piece of human trash. Edited March 18, 2012 by Xittenn
hypervalent_iodine Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 ! Moderator Note I think everybody needs to take a small step back and a few deep breaths. Xitten, you've been here long enough to know how the forum works. If you have a problem with something someone says, you report it, you don't derail threads. That goes for all of you.
granpa Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 the cause of pimples is lack of exfoliation. wash and scrub the skin with hot water and use a good moisturizer. oil is a natural moisturizer. washing the oil away dries the skin and makes pimples worse.

I'm doubting this advice for the following reason. When I was a teenager I suffered with acne. My doctor advised me to stop using palmolive soap because it was oily and prescribed eskamel which had a drying effect.
granpa Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) acne ≠ pimples besides that palmolive soap may not be a very good moisterizer. oil probably works best. Edited March 20, 2012 by granpa
Joatmon Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 acne ≠ pimples besides that palmolive soap may not be a very good moisterizer. oil probably works best. "Acne is a skin condition that causes pimples or "zits." This includes whiteheads, blackheads, and red, inflammed patches of skin (such as cysts)". John Cuthber Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 wash and scrub the skin with hot water and use a good moisturizer. washing the oil away dries the skin and makes pimples worse. I edited it a bit Water is, by it's nature a moisturiser, which leaves us with Wash and scrub the skin with hot water: washing the oil away dries the skin and makes pimples worse. which strikes me as odd.
Appolinaria Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Acne, or pimples do not have just one overall cure. They are the skin's reaction to a number of things. Skin problems can result from hormonal changes, over productive sebaceous glands, fungal infections, etc... not just bacteria. And ontop of that, everyone has different kinds of skin, living in different climates, different diets, daily activities- so it's hard to give good advice via intrawebs
