ready-made solenoid coil?

can you purchase ready made solenoid coils for diy purposes? if so where?

 

it needs to be as many turns as possible but i also need to be able to pass a 1cm diameter rod through the middle of it.

 

i just don't like the idea of having to hand wind it!

There are almost no manufacturers of this type of component as it is readily made by anyone. Loudspeakers often employ an air core inductor in their crossover and the most easily attained product on the market comes from these guys Jantzen Audio!
