gib65 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Hello, I have here a Navier-Stokes equation: It represents the conservation of energy in fluids. This is going into a book I'm writing and my editor says I need to cite my source for this formula. Truth is, I got it from a website that no longer seems to be online. Does anyone know of a source (book, website, journal article) that I can cite confirming this.
doG Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Look through the lectures in the Surface Tension module at MIT's OpenCourseWare. It's probably covered there.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 The lecture notes of the professor who taught my fluid dynamics class: http://farside.ph.utexas.edu/teaching/336L/Fluidhtml/node17.html It's written in a different form, but you can check the previous chapters to see how it was derived.
elfmotat Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 http://soliton.ae.gatech.edu/labs/windtunl/classes/hispd/hispd06/ns_eqns.html They list the same equation under "Summary."
