So, I was just thinking of some chemical terminologies the other day and then it appears to me that some could make great pet names!

If I ever get a chinchilla, I'll name it Buckyball.

Milimo (mmol) is good too :D

Post some names if you come across any ok? Have fun.

umm how about Pebbles or Archibald?

Can you describe the gender of the cat?

What does it remind you of? a python, a tiger or something entirely different?

Cat? Chemistry? Cation, of course.

Any Frankenstein-looking pet (such as the world's ugliest dog), Chimera.

Another big, black bird to make friends with the first one, Chromate.

Wild canine (or male wool-bearing creature), Wolfram.

My colorful, pirate bird, poly-[something].

Our Staffordshire bull terriers are Huxley and Wallace.

More biology names than chemistry, but you get the idea.

I used to have an English Setter named libido.

I see you use the past tense, does this mean that you lost Libido?

(Please note, at least I used a capital letter to denote a proper noun).

I was going to call my goldfish Methionylglutaminylarginyltyrosylglutamylserylleucylphenylalanylalanylglutaminylleucyllysylglutamylarginyllysylglutamylglycylalanylphenylalanylvalylprolylphenylalanylvalylthreonylleucylglycylaspartylprolylglycylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylserylleucyllysylisoleucylaspartylthreonylleucylisoleucylglutamylalanylglycylalanylaspartylalanylleucylglutamylleucylglycylisoleucylprolylphenylalanylserylaspartylprolylleucylalanylaspartylglycylprolylthreonylisoleucylglutaminylasparaginylalanylthreonylleucylarginylalanylphenylalanylalanylalanylglycylvalylthreonylprolylalanylglutaminylcysteinylphenylalanylglutamylmethionylleucylalanylleucylisoleucylarginylglutaminyllysylhistidylprolylthreonylisoleucylprolylisoleucylglycylleucylleucylmethionyltyrosylalanylasparaginylleucylvalylphenylalanylasparaginyllysylglycylisoleucylaspartylglutamylphenylalanyltyrosylalanylglutaminylcysteinylglutamyllysylvalylglycylvalylaspartylserylvalylleucylvalylalanlaspartylvalylprolylvalylglutaminylglutamylserylalanylprolyphenylalanylarginylglutaminylalanylalanylleucylarginylhistidylasparaginylvalylalanylprolylisoleucylphenylalanylisoleucylcysteinylprolylprolylaspartylalanylaspartylaspartylaspartylleucyleucylarginylglutaminylisoleucylalanylseryltyrosylglycylarginylglycyltyrosylthreonyltyrosylleucylleucylserylarginylalanylglycylvalylthreonylglycylalanylglutamylasparaginylarginylalanylalanylleucylprolylleucylasparaginylhistidylleucylvalylalanyllysylleucyllysylglutamyltyrosylasparaginylalanylalanylprolylprolylleucylglutaminylglycylphenylalanylglycylisoleucylserylalanylprolylaspartylglutaminylvalyllysylalanylalanylisoleucylaspartylalanylglycylalanylalanylglycylalanylisoleucylserylglycylserylalanylisoleucylvalyllysylisoleucylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylhistidylasparaginylisoleucylglutamylprolylglutamyllysylmethionylleucylalanylalanylleucyllysylvalylphenylalanylvalylglutaminylprolylmethionyllysylalanylalanylthreonylarginylserine

But it took me more than 7 seconds to say it and so he could never learn it.

(I know it's a myth about goldfish memories, but why let the facts spoil the joke?)
