hi all!

 

i want to use chelex 100 sodium form (Sigma 50-100 dry mesh) in order to remove calcium traces from my protein but i dont know how to use it.

 

any suggestion is always wellcome.

Check Dunn, M.F., et al., Biochemistry, vol. 19, 718 (1980). There are variation with differences in speed and recovery, but if you do not really intend to build a column or something similar the described approach should work fine. Just remember that the binding is highly pH dependent.

Normally w/v % is used. I.e. you just weigh in the desired amount of Chelex (say 5g) and then add ultrapure water (in this case 100 ml) to create a suspension with the given percentage.
