rajesh_m Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 And if extinct can it come back again or life was just an accidental.
robheus Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Assuming the cosmos in the far future is ripped apart as the expansion of space speeds up, yes, then all life will go extinct and the universe goes extinct. What comes after that we do not know. 1
Moontanman Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Short of the scenario robheus speaks of I would say no, life will not ever be extinct as long as planets can form and exist around stars. Are you suggesting that life on earth is the only life or asking if life on earth can become extinct then yes, it will become extinct in a few billion years for sure. It's doubtful the conditions that allowed life to form on the earth will be repeated after the earth is sterilized by the death of the sun... Life is not accidental... too-open-minded Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 We will most likely never know, but what defines life? Consciousness? Is the Sea Squirt ( http://goodheartextremescience.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/meet-the-creature-that-eats-its-own-brain/ ) still conscious after it eats its own brain? What is evolution?
ecoli Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Life is not accidental... that's a pretty strong claim for which you've provided zero evidence
too-open-minded Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 What is accidental other than unintended? Why does it matter is it was intended or not. Is water intended to freeze?
