Radical Edward
well in our (sensible) eyes he has been proved wrong, but being alive a month from now with no planet showing up will prove him even more wrong. the problem is with cracks like him, is that when whatever event they are taking about doesn't come to pass, they just disappear and are never heard of again. I saw a TV interview with a guy who claimed the world was going to end in the 2000 eclipse, and so the hosts invited him to come back the day after if the world was still there. he said he would, but he never showed. greg1917
He didnt seem particularly fazed or bothered about the fact that there would be massive and catastrophic effects on life on the planet, just proud he thought it was going to happen and no one believed him. around the last eclipse there was a pagan monk in somerset who sold all his belongings and said to goodbye to his family because he was so sure massive storms would ravish the earth - he at least was confident enough in his beliefs, wrong or not, to take the action that would seem appropriate. he drifted into the irish sea in a dingy to meet his destiny then presumably sailed to land when nothing happened... i have a lot more respect for him than adam who doesnt even defend blatantly wrong dates, respond to valid arguments or take notice of glaring omissions and presumptions in his tinpot pseudoscience. greg1917
I dont know very much astronomy apart from the basics but surely the moon will appear in exactly the position, red or not, that it was always going to appear in. i would have presumed anyone with a basic knowledge of astronomy (ie not me) would be able to use charts to calculate the exact positions and times the moon is visible from a certain place on earth based on its orbital path so how can adam claim this is not the moon? thats like claiming when the sun rises at 6.30 its actually a massive flaming meteor coming for earth because its a large bright disk in the sky, regardless of the fact the sun has a habit of rising at that time of the day. Didn't he learn we only have one moon in grade school or some shit? And by the way, the moon looks red sometimes because of the light that is captured in gasses by the sun. Depending on the gas, they may glow purple, red, orange, yellow, blue, and even green!...the green is scarce.
fafalone
In this installment: Adam argues that Keplers Laws are flawed, right after professing his lack of interest and education in science. He also explains how evolution didn't happen, and there is no fossil record. This comes after him repeatedly asking where the missing link between humans and homo sapiens is, blissfully ignorant to the fact that we ARE homo sapiens. fafaIone: as i walked back from the library tonight, i looked up at all the stars... i twirled around looking at every area of the sky.. yet i didn't see anything abnormally bright or planetish... so where's planet x sacredcity3: i don[t know you pin point it to me sacredcity3: i forgot it existed fafaIone: it doesn't exist, thats the problem. sacredcity3: ur problem* fafaIone: since you wasted so much of my time trying to convince me that it existed, it's your problem. fafaIone: admit you were wrong sacredcity3: i'm not wrong fafaIone: then where is it? sacredcity3: i don't know fafaIone: wrong. sacredcity3: ill know when i see it fafaIone: and when is that going to be sacredcity3: may 15 fafaIone: since when do planets suddenly appear... we would be able to see it coming months away sacredcity3: not necessarily fafaIone: yes, there's no way a large planet would somehow evade eyesight until the day its close enough to flip the poles sacredcity3: it woudln't flip poles fafaIone: shift, whatever sacredcity3: its gravity would align wtih earths poles. fafaIone: gravity is not related to magnetic forces fafaIone: according the standard model at least sacredcity3: i'm sure it is fafaIone: if it was close enough to affect the earth gravitationally, it would destabilize our orbit around the sun sacredcity3: My judgements exsquisid fafaIone: which means it could have never have passed us before sacredcity3: that's nonsense fafaIone: no, it's basic science. sacredcity3: basic science updates as new information is found. sacredcity3: just like people though sun goes around earth sacredcity3: couple centuries ago, but polish guy disproved that fafaIone: the entire idea that planet x existed fafaIone: came from unknown gravitational interactions of other planets fafaIone: that couldn't be explained sacredcity3: an idea which was once respectuflly considered by NASA . and all the sudden discredited. fafaIone: and that hinges on our theory of gravity being accurate sacredcity3: theory of gravity fafaIone: so if our theory of gravity is flat out wrong, theres no reason to conclude theres another planet sacredcity3: there's plenty of other planets fafaIone: furthermore, if our understanding of gravity is so incredibly flawed fafaIone: not in this solar system sacredcity3: and your idea of gravity is a theory. sacredcity3: not a fact fafaIone: no, it is a fact sacredcity3: it's a fact? fafaIone: it's a fact that planets move according to the model sacredcity3: homosapien - human evolution sacredcity3: is a fact too? fafaIone: why that happens in a theory, but the fact that it happens is observable fafaIone: yes, evolution is a fact. sacredcity3: according to what model? sacredcity3: evolution sacredcity3: from homosapien to human is a fact? sacredcity3: so tell me what the link is fafaIone: homo sapien is human sacredcity3: that i'm not eliete enough to know sacredcity3: ... fafaIone: that's the name of our species fafaIone: homo sapien == human sacredcity3: hold on i'l look that up fafaIone: omfg, you're an idiot fafaIone: another 4th grade science fact you seem to have missed. sacredcity3: i'm not into science sacredcity3: and never will be fafaIone: no kidding fafaIone: so stop pretending like you can find flaws in keplers laws sacredcity3: there are flaws sacredcity3: and evolution is not a fact fafaIone: yes it is sacredcity3: but according to you sacredcity3: it is sacredcity3: just you sacredcity3: . sacredcity3: no one else sacredcity3: and it cannot be confirmed as a fact fafaIone: according to every educated individual sacredcity3: the missing link = ? fafaIone: yes, it can sacredcity3: what is the missing link = ? fafaIone: its called the fossil record sacredcity3: the missing link = ? fafaIone: we can look at fossils and see how they changed sacredcity3: you maybe. fafaIone: natural selection is a theory fafaIone: but evolution is a fact sacredcity3: okay i'm out. sacredcity3: it's not a fact sacredcity3: it's a joke fafaIone: yes, it is. fafaIone: go look at the fossils for yourself Auto response from sacredcity3: w
Dave
It's not the fact that he's wrong that disturbs me. It's the fact that after all this time and scientific explanation, he's still spouting the same old crap and refusing to believe it's wrong. Then again, teh bit with the humans and homo-sapiens is quite funny tbh.
