Ivan-Italy
Hi, my name is Ivan and i'm writing from Italy so sorry for my english I simplified the time dilation in General Relativity by following the same criteria and the same reasoning used for Special Relativity. Are you are interested in reading it, since the General has not been simplified?

elfmotat
I'm not really sure what you mean when you say you "simplified time dilation." Post what you're talking about.
Ronald Hyde
You've got my interest because I have some similar ideas.
Ivan-Italy
I start with Special one. I arrive, with 3 simple operations, to the equation T=t/square root of 1-v2/c2 setting the first equivalence with logical reasoning as simple. The semplification with the Pitagora theoreme is, instead, wrong and improper; for now, just think that the traveler, if he knows just his time, can't never know the time of the observer, if he doesn't already know the formula of Lorents-Poincaré; with my simplification, instead, we just have to know the time or of the traveler or of the observer, and we shall simply know the time of the other one. I do the same with the General one, coming to the formula T=t/square root of 1- 2GM/Rc2. From that follows that the time dilation in the General depends, as in Special one, not on the acceleration, but on the real or potential speed of the body depending on the distance of the body from the gravitational mass that attracts him. In fact this real or potential speed coincides perfectly with the escape velocity of the body from the mass.
ACG52
Anybody understand that?
Ronald Hyde
This isn't the same as my version of gravity. Mine invokes a potential that goes as [math]1-MG/C^2r[/math], where M is the gravitating mass, G is Newtons constant, C is the speed of light and r is the radial distance from the gravitating mass. elfmotat
So are you going to post it or not? If not, what's the point of this thread?
Ivan-Italy
Ronald, the difference between me and you is that I come to the formula which involves the 2 before GM, and in most the square root: as the official formula of General Relatitity, taking into account the Schwarzschild formula too (please, check the existence of the official formula). The rest is all the same. Elfmotat, I just need some day to find an english translator (maybe an english teacher) and a person who can put formulas here with precision and clarity (for example, I can't find the way to put here the square root!). But I can anticipate that the speech is very interesting, in fact Franco Selleri (one of the talents of Relativity) had interest in this too. See you soon. Obelix
T=t/square root of 1- 2GM/Rc2. Do you confound your reasoning within Schwarzschild spacetime?
Ivan-Italy
Do you confound your reasoning within Schwarzschild spacetime? One thing at a time. We are going to start from the special, with my formula and the connected logical reasoning. I asked for help to Mrs Parisien, a Canadian mothertongue professor at Potenza University. Please, be patient for one-two days.

Iuele
Did someone read my attached file? What do you think about it? Can I continue with my explanation? I think that your exposition is very interesting and i think is rigth to study in deep the problem and matematics formulas thats seems very very good also to make people able to know relativity while if they are not necessarly fisicist or mathematician. I hope that you and others members speak about further. Infact i am very curious to verify how is possible to arrive to semplify general relativity.
