How can I start a poll on this site? I thought it might be useful to get the opinions of the community. Are there any special rules for polls? Am I allowed to ask about religion, political standing, and other sort of touchy subjects? Thanks.

Each time you start a new topic, there's a Manage Topic Poll button right at the top middle of the page.

 

Don't ask religious or political questions unless you're in the Religion or Politics sections. If you've read the Rules, you should be able to discern the difference between touchy and offensive.
