Hi all,

I am having problems working out some basic maths questions and would like someone to help me please !

17+47=7+ ?

33+18=29+ ?

56+81=44+ ?

54-32=25-?

140/35= ?

150/100=?

3/5 x ? = 2/5

1/4+?= 3/4

2 3/5 - 4/5 = ?

60% of 120?

75% of 400?

22% of 200?

45% of 500?

33.6+8.7 = ?

Also, these questions: -

q1) If John starts work at 8:45 am and finishes at 5:15pm. He has 90 mins of breaks. How many hours does he work in 5 days?

q2) A restaurant bill is made up of 12.50, 28.55, and 8.95, plus 15% service charge how much is the bill?

Is this the real Gamewizard? Last post here was a challenging question on urea(?) assays if my memory serves me correctly - whereas this is very basic sums.

Lol yes this is the real one. That was my university work, this is what I have to do for my job interview...not done basic arithmetic like this for about 3 years now so brain gone totally blank !

First lot - rearrange so that unknown is by itself on one side of the equation, as long as you move stuff properly across equals then you will end up with answer.

Second lot - percentages are just fractions of a hundred - divide by 100 and multiply by the percentage

q1 work in minutes then convert back

q2 simple addition and then multiply by 1 + percentage/100

q3 work out average per l-jack per day and multiply out

q4 find out discount as above and subtract

I must admit I am a bit stunned that a student on any form of science degree is the least bit perturbed by those sums

Thanks I know how to do them now. Well I have never attempted these kind of questions while at university, and I dont have a very strong maths background :(
