BlogsTune Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 When I have tried to find out the oxidation number of it I was unable to find out. Even I tried to drew the molecular structure but failed to get the oxidation number of H2So5. From this (link removed by mod) periodic table found some thing related to solve it. Please help me to find out the name of this compound and it s atomic structure.
CaptainPanic Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 H2SO4 exists. I have never heard of H2SO5. ! Moderator Note I have also temporarily removed the link to your blog. It can easily be found through any search engine. Please check our forum rules, section 2.7.
mississippichem Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Peroxy sulfuric acid is the name you are looking for I believe. What is the oxidation number of an oxygen in hydrogen peroxide? What is the oxidation number for an oxygen in sulfuric acid? If you can answer these then your question is in the bag.
