The argument will never stop. People who don't know what they are talking about but think they've overturned science are in seemingly infinite supply. http://xkcd.com/675/

Phi for All
It's related to the Dunning-Kruger effect I think there's also a tendency for people to assume that scientists are so amazingly freaking smart that they might overlook the simplest explanations. Like maybe there's a type of light in the spectrum that we can't see that we don't even know to test for, and if we singled it out and used just that on a photovoltaic cell designed for it it would produce 98% efficient electricity. Or that special relativity is so complicated that it can't be right, and some kind of aether medium is much more simple and elegant as an explanation. John Cuthber
Do you understand that the patent office(s) doesn't care if the invention works? Patenting it still won't prove that the ether exists. On the other hand, it will cost you money. I rather doubt that a prototype will ever be made. If it's made, it won't work. I thick so. From the wiki article, quoting Bertrand Russell "One of the painful things about our time is that those who feel certainty are stupid, and those with any imagination and understanding are filled with doubt and indecision". Well, I'm just no too sure about that. I can't make my mind up. Edited September 26, 2012 by Ophiolite

John Cuthber
I think the law forbids gambling on events which have already taken place. The non-existence of the ether was proven a while back (1887) so nobody is really allowed to bet on this.

I am not sure if you have any experience with patents it is not like most people think. But my guess is that it will be looked upon as frivolous and not considered by a good lawyer. I am not sure if you have any experience with patents it is not like most people think. But my guess is that it will be looked upon as frivolous and not considered by a good lawer. And make sure it's a utility patent, not a design patent. Patent attorney's make a ton of money off design patents, which can then be used as an insanely expensive toilet paper substitute. Illuusio will claim it does, but he'll always be too busy to provide any evidence or results. Nonsense! I have used two months of my free time to create underlying theory and bunch of experiments. I have to ease my pace now due to other commitments. But I have the blueprint for my ether proving experiment done and few preliminary tests executed. Now I need some additional material and more time to finish. The result is already in my knowledge and there is the ether.
