Tres Juicy Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Hi all, My car has a rather unique paint job, it's a bright pink and white marble effect (I will try to post a picture at some point) but on sunny days it seems to attract small flies. Could this be due to it reflecting More UV than normal cars? I would appreciate your input. Thanks, Al
John Cuthber Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Quite possibly. You can't be "rather unique" any more than you can be slightly pregnant or mildly dead. If there's only one of something then it's unique- otherwise it isn't. A picture would be interesting anyway. 1

imatfaal Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Is it possible that they are trying to blot out the paint job - even if their only method of doing so is suicidal splatting? 3
Moontanman Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/88215419@N08/8059597000/ That is a wild looking car for sure.... 1

imatfaal Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 They just seem to gather on the roof on sunny days... I had a shirt like that as a child - when worn outside on a sunny day it would attract flying critters like nobody's business. Two of my elder brothers tried to work out why this happened - they decided that it was unusual in reflecting an unseen wavelength of light, my other elder brother said it was because it smelt of dogpoo. I got self-conscious and stopped wearing the shirt inside the house or outside. 1
