Regardless of what you want to call it, brainwaves, Self, or soul, does the essence of a human individual's mind belong to something larger in relation to his fellow humans? Is there a subtle inter-pathic network connecting us, forming a backdrop for all conscious thought?

Physically, no, physical connection,, but behaviorally, there is that sort of fractal like pattern you see in nature, and it extends to more than just humanity. If you think of cells, they are composites of various chemicals working together to comprise a single thing, some chemicals able to comprise the cell more than others, then you have cells which comprise different chemicals that work together to create different tissues which work to create different organs in different animals which work to create a body and then a species. In a way, both altruism and selfishness extend to such ends that the behavior of any single part in the system is a prerequisite for an action in the larger part of the system.

Say a primitive man signaled to his follow hunters with a "Sssssssssss" sound to warn that he sees a snake. That "Sssssss" sound is a vibration that may still vibrate 10 million years later. Perhaps that information is still out there but out of context.

Human thoughts are generated by human brains. And human brains are basically the same. So they bring up the same basic thoughts. Such as:

1. Sex

2. Fear

3. Regret

If you doubt this, just consider your own nocturnal dreams!

Aren't these dreams the manifestation of a human "collective subconscious"?

Inter-pathic network? The word interpathic is not a common one. Would you like to give a definition?

Without a precise definition this has the feel of word salad. What form would this network take? We can't avoid answering by saying that it would be subtle, i.e. difficult to detect. The network would have to have some means of transfering information by recognised forces, else this is just pseudo science.

Direct brain to brain information transfer by one of the four fundamental forces i ruled out by observation. We are then left with development of an awareness and common thinking through being part of the same culture. And that leaves us with nothing more profound than, as human who are members of a single species, living similar lives in similar environments we tend to think in similar ways.
