Green Roof Research

Dear all, I am a mechanical engineering student conducting research in developing new numerical model for green roof. A relatively unknown domain for me is plant physiology.

I am looking for an expression that give rate of water transport through soil, plant and to atmosphere that may include, among others, soil water potential, air vapour pressure, etc.

Can anyone in this forum give me a link to these areas?

The book Wetlands, by William Mitsch & James Grosselink, has equations that cover parameters involved with evapotranspiration.
