Doing Biology AND Physics?

Right now I am 17. I'm graduated, and about to go to community college for 2 years in order to get my basics out of the way to go to a University later.

 

The problem is, I have always been absolutely obsessed by both biology and physics. I don't know which to choose, and I feel like within the next couple of decades it is completely reasonable to do both. Are there any current jobs that require majors in both? I plan to duel major. Ever since I was little I've been really good at math. Just recently have I discovered the benefit to this, and been implementing it. I've read and read about String Theory, Quantom Mechanics, Trans-humanism... Even Biocentrism, which is what originally got me onto this Biology kick. I feel like in less than 50 years, the two sciences may conform into one. Quantum Mechanics ties so much with biology.

 

The unknown, mysterious aspect to life is what bugs me. If the universe had expanded any faster, there would be no life. If nuclear force were tweaked by a fraction, life wouldn't exist. Even other atoms besides hydrogen wouldn't. Hell, if the sun were any closer or nearer, Earth would have no life. If the sun were much closer to the center of the galaxy, Earth would have no life. The requirements for life are so narrow. Although, since life observes, it would make sense that the requirements would be met. You would not be produced in a place where you were not able to live. The first couple sentences of this paragraph are more strange.. Its like the Universe was not made on accident.

 

I intend to find all of this out, even if it requires me to put myself into cryonic suspension. xD Only kind of joking though, thats the thing.

 

I have a few inputs on this whole 'Theory of Everything' concept. And I feel like studying both aspects would make me more able to refine these ideas.

Anyways how do I do this whole life thing? Sorry for going on a bit.. Aha..

Short answer - take the first year courses for both and discuss the question with the teachers.

admire your intention to study both I.e. physics as well as biology. Physics deals with only one aspect of existence in universe namely matter but biological world is a package of two aspects of existence in universe namely matter & consciousness. Please remember it is consciousness alone who is "SELF-AWARE" as we as "OTHER- AWARE". The phrase "OTHER-AWARE" relates to matter(physical body). The THEORY OF EVERY THING cannot be obtained without including consciousness in the Mathematical eqations.It seems impossible at present to include consciousness in Mathematical eqations.But please note mathematics is a invention of man's consciousness.This very consciousness will find a new mathematics which will allow inclusion of consciousness in future to create THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING.So go ahead.
