Ice_Phoenix87 Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 i need some help with these questions *identify the industrial source of ethylene from the cracking of some of the fractions from the refining of petroleum by giving the appropriate equation *identify that eythlene, because of the high reactivity of its double bond, is readily transformed into many useful products - give examples *identify that ethylene serves as a monomer from which polymers are made - give equation *identify polyethylene as an addition polymer and explain the meaning of this term *outline the steps in the production of polyethylene as an example of a commerically and industrially important polymer *identify the following as commercially significant monomers: - vinyl chloride -styrene by both their systematic and common names - give structure *describe the uses of the polymers made from the above monomers in terms of their properties *discuss the need for alternative sources of the compounds presently obtained from the petrochemical industry thanx, this is just some of the questions but i didnt want to bore you with them
jamesy Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 have a look at my website at http://www.geocities.com/jamesyscience and then navigate your way to the production of materials syllabus notes page in the chemistry section. It will be either be the first or second one down the list. Jamesy P.S. it probably won't be there until mid january
Silencer Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 "P.S. it probably won't be there until mid january" So you just told him to go somewhere that doesn't exist?
