For those of you who do not already know about it, "The Silent Scream" was a classic pro-life video where a medical doctor explains in detail the procedures used in abortion. By today's standards it is a really slow and boring film (nearly a half hour long), but it was well made, and is still often referred to amongst pro-life activists.

Abortion is a silent injustice. What is the true cost of a woman being "liberated" ?
Sometimes I wonder just how many little human fetuses have to be sacrificed on the altar of women's rights.

So sit back and enjoy the videos

comments welcome. Perhaps these old videos will stimulate some good debate. Edited by Anders Hoveland

Abortion is much older than liberation, has always been common, and as long as it was dangerous and painful to the woman it was not a primary concern. It's the legality, the safety, the lack of pain, the escape from social consequences, the idea of the woman making the decision, not the abortion, that creates the psychiatric problems in the pro-life crowd.

I have never seen a grave for a fourth month miscarriage, in any pro-life churchyard. No ashes in a cremation urn. No organized church based movement against industrial pollution of other such factors that cause miscarriages by the tens of thousands. Until abortion was legalized, all those pro-life people used to just flush miscarriages down the toilet. The Catholic hospitals threw early miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, and the like, in the garbage. For centuries they did that. It simply never occurred to them to do otherwise. All this "life begins at conception" bs never showed up until the invention of anesthesia and safe, competent medical abortion. Until the woman could choose, and not suffer, third month embryos were not human beings with separate rights.

Propaganda films, like that one, are fundamentally dishonest.

Have you ever heard any surgery explained in detail? It's not abortion that has things that would seem terrible to people, but surgery in general.
