I cannot hear anything above 14kHz anymore. Even just a year ago I could hear well above 15k. Am I screwed, or is there any way at all to improve my range again? Knowing that sound will never be as crisp as it once was is extremely disconcerting.

Tone makers. You can download them, and if your soundcard is good enough, you can generate sine waves up to 22kHz.

 

It's no theory.

And your sound hardware has to be good enough as well.... most headphones and speakers people have on their computers ain't that superb.

its just a thing which happens as you get older....

 

no need to show off you audio system... although it does sound quite cool :D

Lol. I've said nothing about my audio system. It's not very good at all... I just have nice headphones.

 

22kHz can be achieved on any new computer with a good headset. Not expensive by any means, but every gamer should have one.

My old engineering prof said the same thing as 5614.

 

Oh well, what do you miss @ 14kHz anyways?
