LaurieAG Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I saw this one in an anime. The enigmatic giant blocked the bridge and said:- To cross this bridge you must make a statement, if what you say is a lie I will strangle you with my bare hands, if what you say is the truth I will stab you with my sword. What do you have to say to cross this bridge?
Daedalus Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 If you try to stab me with your sword, I will shoot you in the head with my gun : ) 1
LaurieAG Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Tres Juicy, it looks like you've seen the episode.
Tres Juicy Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 No, but I do like these types of puzzle. Look up the hardest logic puzzle ever
Endy0816 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I say nothing. Instead I attack the giant and take his eye. Without his eye the giant is now a gant. I place the enigmatic glove on my hand and proceed across the bridge. -1
LaurieAG Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 It's a variation of the Liars Paradox. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liar_paradox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6del's_incompleteness_theorems#Relation_to_the_liar_paradox
Delta1212 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Tres Juicy, it looks like you've seen the episode. It's a pretty famous riddle.
BrainTrainer Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I will say you will strangle me with your bare hands. This way the It would create a paradox: He strangles me if I lie, but if he will strangle me than what I am saying is not a lie. He will kill me with sword if I am telling the truth, but since I said he will strangle me, that cannot be the truth either.
