mansamusa Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 how does infra red light work ? we can't see that shift normally right ? what if i made a full body suit made of infra red, would yall be able to see me ?
ajb Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrared is not a bad place top start. If you were only emitting, reflecting or diffracting infarared light our eyes would not detect you.
caKus Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 If your project is to wear a suit that radiates only infrared light, this is easy : wear a black suit, like some muslin women do. Black absorbs all visible light ; the only radiation you will emit will be infrared due to the heat of your body. Unfortunatly, this will not make you invisible : the brain of an observer can analyze the absence of light as a black object (in daylight, of course) and identify this object by its contour. A clever little guy, this brain, isn't it ?
swansont Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Unfortunately for your proposal black cloth does not absorb all visible light. You can still see the cloth — you don't just see the contour.
