fresh Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 hey guys, any very wonderful medical detective books you guys can recommend ? PL provide with authors, thanks. : - )
ewmon Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 "Microbe Hunters" by Paul de Kruif (1926), very much the classic and still in print "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston (1994), a best-seller on viral hemorrhagic fevers (ebola etc) "Splendid Solution" by Jeffrey Kluger (2005), excellent about polio and Salk's vaccine
swansont Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I recently read Deborah Blum's The Poisoner's Handbook and it was excellent. The history of the development of forensic science in the context of poisoning death investigations in and around NYC, ca 1920-1930. Not sure if this is what you mean by a "medical detective" book, but it's a good read.
fresh Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Thank you very much, it is what i want !
