YoungStrife Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 Why do convection currents exist? What makes them rotate the way they do? Will they ever stop? And if they do stop, will the mantle cool?
Ryoken Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 I think it is the other way around, that if the mantle would cool the currents would stop... but don't quote me on that.
YoungStrife Posted March 22, 2003 Author Posted March 22, 2003 I agree. My theory is that the currents happen do to the plasticity of the rock in the mantle, and he heat constnatly trying to be released from it. But then again, I'm no genius.

Just did. Why not..you are correct. The issue is people quoting people who are dead wrong that troubles me. Bill
Ryoken Posted March 23, 2003 Posted March 23, 2003 Bill, you are studying ecology, no? Strife, I don't think that ANY of this is a mystery. Do a search on google for the info you want.
YoungStrife Posted March 23, 2003 Author Posted March 23, 2003 I never said it was. Just tried to make a thread on an abandoned topic if you don't mind . Now leave me to my thoughts until I figure another thread for a poor, abandoned topic. PEACE!
