RawThinkTank
I think Swansont is well aware of how MLVs operate. Are you? Both track and vehicle have electrmagnets. Now, the question you have been so studiously ignoring, how are you going to impart this immense acceleration to all the molecules[/i'] of the human body? Given that we aren't especially magnetic - though some of us may have magnetic personalities. http://liftoff.msfc.nasa.gov/News/1999/News-MagLev.asp http://www.physics.gatech.edu/academics/tutorial/phys2122/Chapter%2032/HFML/HFML.htm Dont say I think, be sure about it. http://www.hfml.ru.nl/levitation-movies.html <iframe src="http://www.hfml.ru.nl/levitation-movies.html"> </iframe>
swansont
http://liftoff.msfc.nasa.gov/News/1999/News-MagLev.asp "The track uses a linear synchronous motor" I addressed this already. Did you have a point?

Sayonara
I'm not sure building and running this thing is going to be worth it. By the time we can build this thing, we'll have much better propulsion technologies that can actually be carried on the ship in question, and ensure a return journey is possible.
