DevilSolution Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Just wondering what instincts are built into the human psyche. For example things like curiosity and will power. Is there a list of things we are born with and from which everything else grows?
Dekan Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 This is a good question. But such questions should not be raised today, as they lead to political incorrectness. All modern scientists are ruled by political correctness. They can't say what they really think.
Tamorph Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 All modern scientists are ruled by political correctness. They can't say what they really think. Yea! Right! That's simply untrue. I don't know any reputable scientist who doesn't say what they think. You've only got to look at some of the crackpot ideas floated on forums like this. Provided you can make a valid argument you can push any hypothesis you like, correct or not. All theories and facts first began with unproven hypotheses, and nobody is afraid of political or any other sort of correctness other than scientific correctness. We care about things being provably correct. Political correctness is not an issue.

It's generally accepted that there are things that are innate, but to list them is difficult because it's difficult to test these things on human newborns. Ethics councils always get in the way of good research.
