Sayonara Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Yup. 403s mainly, due to the CHMOD settings being borked when the files were copied.
Rakdos Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 whenever i come in form my RSS feed from firefox i get forbidden errors
ed84c Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 yes, hundereds, I get 404s Any news on the IRC?
coquina Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 But only when I go to the right side of the board and click on the last message. If I open the main topic, and then click on the thread, it works.
5614 Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 i got a couple of 404s a week or two back havent had anything for a while, no 403 errors.
ecoli Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 But only when I go to the right side of the board and click on the last message. If I open the main topic, and then click on the thread, it works. Same with me.
Martin Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 I havent had any in the past three days (Sunday monday and tuesday) before that I remember something saying "error" that may have been it, but i dont remember what i was doing---i just backed off and tried again.
swansont Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 I just got one, but reclicking on the link then worked OK.
-Demosthenes- Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Same with me. me too, the yesterday of the day ecoli's post was written
Deified Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I got a 403 trying to get to this page. It happens a few times a day for me.
Gilded Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I've gotten a nice combo of 403 + 404. I can't see how a page/document can be forbidden if it's not even found in the first place. ) And I've been getting this for a couple of weeks or so.
Jordan14 Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 I just got one too: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/showthread.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Gilded Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 This is getting really tiresome. I seem to get them on a daily basis.
yummifruitbat Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I get them if I click the links in the right hand 'last post' column, and occasionally clicking links in posts (internal ones). They're all the same as the one Jordan got: Error 403 forbidden, additionally error 404 whilst trying to access ErrorDoc. Still getting them today
syntax252 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I do not get any error messages, but often-- about once in every 5 or 6 posts, that I post-- I will get spontaniousely disconnected from the internet. This does not happen elsewhere, only on this forum, and I am subscribed to several. When I get back to where I was, the message that I tried to post is posted all right, so it must happen after the posying connection was made. I am on AOL, with a DSL service through Verizon, if that resonates with any of you who are more computer literate than I.
syntax252 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 That's weird. Are you using IE5.5? If that is to me, no, I am using AOL 9.0 for broadband.
Sayonara Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 AOL 9 for Windows is based on the IE engine. I have similar problems with IE 5.5, which they force us to use at work on account of being stuck in the age of steam engines. Try using Mozilla, Firefox or Opera and see if the problem goes away.
Dak Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 some 404s, and a couple of hangs after pressing the 'submit reply' button. using firefox 1.0.2 if that helps
Phi for All Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 I'm getting them more and more, or at least I'm getting peeved with them more and more, which may make them seem more prolific. Using Firefox 1.0.2, and it only happens when trying to link from email notifications & specific thread links. I can get them three times in a row from the same link and then it works the fourth time. Very erratic. Very frustrating. I'm American, you can't forbid me anything or I get irate.
