iamleo Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 i want to ask that in buffalo or bovine what disorders and diseases are associated with growth hormone receptor (GHR) or growth hormone binding protein (GHBP)? secondly the gene location of GHR of water buffalo is also needed along with the references. please can anybody help me out?
Vita ferus Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Hi, the location of the growth hormone receptor gene for Bos Taurus (bovine) is 20q17. This can be found in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). The ID for this gene is GenBank: AF044258.1. I do not know of any referenced diseases associated with a dysfunctional GHR in Bos Taurus however I think it would be safe to assume it would be highly associated with in the myogenesis process (formation of muscle tissue). Here is a paper that might help you but the site only provides the abstract. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022030298757601
