Mark Twain Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Hi, I'm Mike!. I just stumbled upon this forum and got interested. I'm a passionate science-aholic, I love neuroscience and astrophysics which I would consider my main areas of focus, but in essence I'm simply possessed by the unrestrained desire of understanding the Universe and the big questions that arise in us conscious beings.
kailin Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Hello Everyone, This is Kai, and I am new to this forum, so feel free to give me any pointers. My interest in anything with Adhesives and biomass conversion technology. Kai

airdude324 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Hello I am airdude324 and I like chemistry, specifically the synthesizing of inorganic compounds. I sounded kind of drug dealer there but its just for experimentation.
BlueBala Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 My name is Emilio and I am interested in all branches of sciences for the most part.
Hisham Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 (edited) Hi I am Frudo the Hobbit from the Shire Kiddin I am Hisham a Computer Science undergrad student. Loves science, physics and the stuff about which If you talk with friends or relatives they might think you are crack or a mad lab genie My Favorite TV show is The Big Bang Theory. I love doing some extremely geeky stuff with computers and learn the way the social media reacts to stuff. I hope this forum will be a good place to find like natured people. Kudos! momofboys24 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Hello as my name suggests I am the mother of two little boys. I have allowed them to guide their own learning and the result was they love all things nature. mommy doesn't always have all the answers they need. Their main interests are paleontology and geology. Although their latest hobby is trying to identify edible plant species on our nature hikes. We have already found wild sand plums and turned them into jelly!
bastion Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Hi. I'm bastion, and i'm new. In my non-internet world I am a CPA, with a passing interest in science matters.
Mousetrap Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Hello all, I'm a paramedic turned anatomist. I'm currently trying to get into a biophysical chemistry program. I'm most aquatinted with the topics of: anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. My dissection specialties are the human brain and heart, but I can and have worked on every part of the body. I love human biology, but I want to know a bit more than biology is interested in at times. Im not satisfied with saying, "This particular hormone reaches this receptor site on the cell and causes changes." I want to know chemically what is going on, hence my interest in biophysical chemistry. My chemistry knowledge is nowhere near my physiology knowledge, but I am currently working very hard to fix that. I'm here to learn, and happy to help if I've got anything useful to add.
nowledge Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Good day to you all, I was sent here through a link in a coursera class forum on the subject of LaTeX. My interests are mathematics and applications in astronomy and/or astrophysics. At this time I probably have a sub standard high school graduate grasp of basic maths but I believe my understanding of some concepts is not as shameful. Thank you for making this wonderful place and I look forward to, and hopefully do so, becoming a positive member. -n

kevina Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Hi folks been lurking a while not many posts. Anyway I've done it I'm officially a undergraduate in the open university I've just finished my first course (introducing environment) and have applied and been accepted for s104 exploring science. Done a few maths books online and realised I understood everything that they were asking (from the open Uni site pre requisite reading) and even moved and checked the pre required stuff for the maths which go hand in hand with physics (section was on vectors) which I managed to muddle through. I'm pondering specialising in nuclear physics (though that isn't set in stone and I believe that's more post grad) Anyhow enouth about me this was just a quick hello
