5614 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 remember all that time ago when we hit 100,000 posts? i mean, this is the post so anway, blike was going to instal the arcade section again... but it never happened... i know that we've just had a server upgrade so it might have been a bad time to do it, but now that's done what's happening? i accept that latex and the 4xx (404, 403 etc) errors are initially more important, but i can ask!
Dave Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I don't think it's going to be making an appearance soon, but I daresay it may come back eventually.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 We had an arcade set up with a few Flash games on it. It was fun.
5614 Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 YAY!!!!! Thanks soo much blike (am I right in assuming you did it?) That'll give me something to do on holiday! You guys have no chance Arcade rocks!
blike Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I'll be adding tons more games over the next few days
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Wheeee!!! Those of you with high scores need something better to do.
atinymonkey Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Oh God. Dave's unholy Chopper Challange skills are back. For some reason I can't help but try and beat him.
davesbird Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Ahhhhh, just the wrong time to bring it back, a week later woulda been perfect. You see, Dave and I are currently in the middle of a week of exams, and the arcade seems to be taking precidence over our revision, so much so, the exam I have tomorrow, I haven't done any work for, and can't seem to concentrate cos all I can think is: must get my post count up so I can join Dave in the fun that is the arcade.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Ahahaha. I seem to be the worst player in the arcade. Except in really new games that nobody has played yet.
Dave Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Oh God. Dave's unholy Chopper Challange skills are back. For some reason I can't help but try and beat him. Muahaha. ph33r the sk1llz
5614 Posted April 19, 2005 Author Posted April 19, 2005 Ahahaha. I seem to be the worst player in the arcade. Except in really new games that nobody has played yet. LOL And when you get the email ____ has beaten your top score in ____ I'm like noooooo.... there goes another 10 mins getting back the title! fun fun fun too many games to keep up with, curveball seems really fun, although I'm not amazing at it.
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Curveball--now there's one game I can actually play.
Sayonara Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Oh God. Dave's unholy Chopper Challange skills are back. For some reason I can't help but try and beat him. Don't forget you have projects to manage and stuff...
dan19_83 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Curveball--now there's one game I can actually play. god damn that game is addictive. How are people doing all those kick-ups aswell?! someone did about 330 in about 90 secs, that's impossible!!

Your telling me. My final year report is due this friday (today in wednesday 11pm!) and i'm f***ed for it!! oh well, back to the arcade!! also, how do you set up a challenge?
Dak Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 can it be fixed so that only one score per person is entered onto the records? so that its more like 'top ten players' rather than 'j'dura's top ten scores'?
-Demosthenes- Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 well if they get the score then why shouldn't they get it shown?
Dak Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 thought it might be better as a 'top ten players' as opposed to a 'top ten scores'. make it more competitively fun, like.
-Demosthenes- Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Of course, but it is important to be sensitive to the feelings of the people who actually get the scores as well, but I definitly see your view.
dan19_83 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 can it be fixed so that only one score per person is entered onto the records? so that its more like 'top ten players' rather than 'j'dura's top ten scores'? maybe he's got a point! i was just looking at the top scores for some of the games, there is at least three where one person has 9 or all 10 of the top scores. it's all well and good to have perfected a game and be the best at it, but no one is going to play that game if he/she thinks that they have no chance of getting on the scoreboard.
atinymonkey Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 but no one is going to play that game if he/she thinks that they have no chance of getting on the scoreboard. Not everyone is driven to win at all costs, some people just play games for fun.
dan19_83 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Not everyone is driven to win at all costs, some people just play games for fun. That's loser talk!!!
andy Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 It won't let me play any of the game It keeps saying that I don't have sufficient privileges- how can I access it- do I have to post more or something?
