how many diff polypeptides, each composed of 5 amino acids, could be synthesized using the 20 common amino acids?

 

 

the answer is simply 20^5 right?

 

if not, then can u please tell me what im doing wrong thx

Hi nezmy. Your calculation is 100% right. But I would like to refer to the question: "polypeptide made outof 5 amino acids". That's wrong beacause a polypeptide must contain a lot of aminoacids. I would call this an oligopeptide?

Well, the literal interpretation is 'More than one', but that doesn't really apply here. 10+ is usual, I hear.
