goodyhi11 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Problem of the week: I have a marble that is immersed in water. Volume of the marble is 10cm^3, its density is 1g/cm^3, and of course the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s^2. 1)Find the Net force acting on the marble?
Klaynos Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Boyant force = the weight of the volume of water displaced by the marble Gravitational force = 9.81*mass of marbel Net force = Gravitaional - boyant
Externet Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Same as the net force acting on the water. Will not be buoyant, will not sink. Miguel
