Windevoid Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Why don't we have magic powers?Any thoughts on this?
John Cuthber Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Why don't we have magic powers? Any thoughts on this? We do, it's just that we don't recognise them as such. We can, for example, read, write, and speak. We can predict the next eclipse. We regularly stave off death by the use of weird chemicals and such like. And, we can point out things like this to people whom we don't know across on the other side of the world while sitting in our nice warm houses.
Windevoid Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 The real question is why shouldn't we have magic powers. because the human brain is restricted. because the human brain is restricted. Can you unrestrict it?
krash661 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 The real question is why shouldn't we have magic powers. Can you unrestrict it? this is nothing more than my personal thought, but i think so, for me it appears the human brain is purposely restricted, but that leads to a bunch of typing. every thing is derived from the human brain. you have to start there. another thought is, looking into dr. manhattan, and this concept.
John Cuthber Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 because the human brain is restricted. Yours might be... I'd love to see you come up with some actual evidence for that suggestion. -1
krash661 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 (edited) Yours might be... I'd love to see you come up with some actual evidence for that suggestion. well perception is a start. and as for your shot at me, ((" abusive ")which i doubt you will receive an warning for, but if i respond, i'm sure i will), hilarious. neuroscience helps, any knowledge in that ? mr. ACG52 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Why don't we have magic powers? Any thoughts on this? Because they don't exist. 1
Windevoid Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Define "magic" You know, like movie, TV and video game magic. Because they don't exist. Why don't they exist?
Klaynos Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 You know, like movie, TV and video game magic. Why don't they exist? Can you be a little more specific in your definition?
D H Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Why don't they exist? Because they don't. Richard Feynman: "You don't like it, go somewhere else! To another universe! Where the rules are simpler, philosophically more pleasing, more psychologically easy."
Moontanman Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I do have magical powers... I am standing behind you right now, no really look... missed me, you were too slow, wanna do it again? 1
swansont Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 You know, like movie, TV and video game magic. Movies, TV and video games are not magic. Magic Phenomena depicted in them are fantasy, and do not follow physical law. As per D H's Feynman quote, you live in the wrong universe
Windevoid Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Because they don't. Richard Feynman: "You don't like it, go somewhere else! To another universe! Where the rules are simpler, philosophically more pleasing, more psychologically easy." Are there really answers?
dragonstar57 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 (edited) does anyone have a way for me to reloacte to a universe with magic? Edited July 11, 2013 by dragonstar57
dimreepr Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 does anyone have a way for me to reloacte to a universe with magic? Jump, from a really high place, with no means of safely decelerating.
EdEarl Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 (edited) You know, like movie, TV and video game magic. Why don't they exist? The Universe didn't provide for them. If it did, they wouldn't be magic, they would be common, like spitting, burping, and sweating. Edited July 11, 2013 by EdEarl
