stefen Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Hi, Can anyone suggest me some good references for center of mass of a triangle. thank u..
J.C.MacSwell Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Hi, Can anyone suggest me some good references for center of mass of a triangle. thank u.. Assuming the triangle is made of something of even thickness and density it would be at the centroid of the triangle, and at half the thickness. http://www.mathopenref.com/trianglecentroid.html
jermy Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Hi, The Center of Mass of a Triangle is a good topic ane here in below m giving a link for your refrence reference: http://physics.tutorcircle.com/rotational-dynamics/center-of-mass.html
daniton Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Hi, Can anyone suggest me some good references for center of mass of a triangle. thank u.. What is the triangle made of? Is the masses at the corner or is it a triangular plane? just for simplicity and clarity. Haven't you learned about centroid of triangle?
alexwang32 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 The center of mass... you mean the centroid? That can be calculated using an integral, I studied this just recently in Engineering Mechanics, I had the chance to learn how it was derived in my Calculus course. But if you just want to know the centroid of a triangle... the intersection point of the 3 medians is the center of mass.
