Windevoid Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Well, I don't know about that, every source I read, online, and offline calorie counts on nutrition labels, says that I should need over 2000 calories, I weigh like 185 pounds, so it's not like I live efficiently, and that's the sedentary count. I'm not sedentary. And almost all days, I only eat between 500 and 1400 calories. Recently these past two weeks, it's been about 700 calories a day.
swansont Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 People tend to overestimate how much exercise they get and underestimate calories eaten, especially when at a restaurant. http://insight.kellogg.northwestern.edu/article/a_dieting_conundrum http://radiomd.com/blogs-experts/radiomd-blogs/item/12308-did-you-know?-you-probably-underestimate-calories-when-eating-out
Lazarus Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 My eating rule is only eat things that taste good. Works for me.
CharonY Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 In addition to what swansont pointed out, the values you found are likely to be recommended values, not minimum requirements. So going for two weeks under the value would not necessarily impact weight immediately. But I would also assume that the biggest factor here is incorrect calorie intake assessment.
John Cuthber Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Unless you weigh and analyse everything you eat, you don't know how many calories you eat.
