ed84c Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Is it possible to burn a film onto a normal CD and play it in a DVD player?
Guest Ritchy Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Yes. It all depends on the format. If you want you film to play in a dvd player it must be in VCD,SVCD,M-peg4(some dvd players dont play m-pegs). You cannot burn a film in VOB(dvd format)
Lance Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Some dvd players cant play any of those formats. You have to buy the player with burning VCD and SVCD in mind.
ecoli Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 My DVD player can't play VCD's...but your computer should be able to.
MulderMan Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 from experiance its usually the "cheaper" variety that play vcd's more than the expensiver brand name models.
ecoli Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Really? I thought it would be exactly the opposite. I figure the more expensive ones would be able to handle a greater varitety of formats (hence the higher price). I figure the cheaper ones would only play DVDs...as they are more common. It would employ more tech to play multiple formats and that would drive prices up. Weird.
bloodhound Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 most dvd players nowdays will be able to play xvid or divx endcoded files
ed84c Posted January 30, 2005 Author Posted January 30, 2005 mines a cheap alba one, its multi region which is handy.
