chamz Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 what is the work produced by any gas during totally unrestricted process 1 - 0 2 - equal to the heat added 3 - mR(T2-T1)/(n-1) 4 - mRln(T2/T1)(i know its not 3 , 4 cuz the problem says any gas) the following properties will remain const after a cyclic process1 - p,v,T, U only2 - none of the properties 3 - v,T,and U 4 - all of the properties is it 1 or 4 pls help exam is on monday
EdEarl Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 1. Read several definitions of thermodynamic work. 2. Assume you fill a balloon with a gas, not stretched full, but full enough it doesn't have any folds or flaps. You are not allowed to stretch the balloon out of shape; otherwise, you can do anything to it you wish; afterwards, what is the state of the gas.
studiot Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 work produced by any gas during totally unrestricted process Exam on Monday? This is basic. Work = force x distance = pressure x volume Ask yourself what force or pressure would the work be done against if the above condition were met?
daniton Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 What do you mean by 'totally unrestricted process'? Could you guess in what type of process does the work done of a system equal to the choices you provided.
