Abambam Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I want help correlating two sets of data. Let's assume a publisher prints 100000 copies of a book. The size of that book is 1131 square mm and the cost of placing an advert on the back cover of that book is $3415.15. If another publisher decides to print 5000 copies of the same book, number of pages being same but the size reduces to 211.05 square mm, what would be the advert rate on the back cover? i,ll appreciate the mathematical basis for any solution. Regards
pears Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 What's the purpose of the question? Is this a homework question? Doesn't it depend on the advertising policy of the second publisher or is the second publisher expected to use exactly the same policies (whatever they are) as the first and simply scale down? It seems like there are too many variables here to give a precise answer.
EdEarl Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 This sounds like a homework question, which we do not answer for people. In other words, you should try to do it yourself. It is hard to compare 100000 of something to 5000 of something unless you use a ratio.
