Guest Millenium Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I'm wondering if anybody here would know of any suppliers of Mercury either online or in the Southern California area. I've been searching for quite some time now and google has failed me. Any help would be really appreaciated. The real problem is that i need mercury in large quantities, i.e. 3 or 4 flasks (76lbs each) for now. Once again any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot.
budullewraagh Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 um, ok. how much money do you really want to spend? it's expensive. try sigma aldrich: http://www.sigmaaldrich.com
pulkit Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 omg ! this is quite dangerous ..... they are selling any chemical you want ..... plus its available even here in India. Mercury costs $200 a Kg (converted from local currency) here....
nebulan Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 you can get mecury from termometer\it tells you whats your temputure..haha| there are lots of termo meters in the hospital you can buy one and get the mercury from it
budullewraagh Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 i'm not sure if they sell to the public though. and plus, it's incredibly expensive

nebulan Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 do you know when will they send me the e-mail
Guest Millenium Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 yeah, i came by sigma aldrich and alfa.com (alfa being the cheaper of the two) but i don't need Reagent quality mercury, only virgin pure which i heard can sell for as cheap as $16 a pound and is 99.9% pure compared to reagent grade mercury which is 99.999999% pure
Cap'n Refsmmat Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 do you know when will they send me the e-mail It's supposed to come automatically. Check any spam filters you have and make sure the email is set to the correct address. Why do you need this mercury? It's quite expensive and dangerous. If it spills in shipping that's a nasty disaster.
budullewraagh Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 the salts are much worse than the actual metal. even if you can get it as low as $16/lb, that's $3648 or $4864 depending on if you get 3 or 4 containers of 76lbs of mercury. why do you want so much mercury???
